糖心视频 takes home two top projects

We complete some of the most complex and impactful projects across the globe鈥攁nd sometimes in our own backyard.

Two of our Wisconsin-based projects have been honored as The Daily Reporter Top Projects for providing safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly solutions.

Dredged Material Management Facility (DMMF)

The DMMF in Milwaukee is a secure containment facility for 1.9 million cubic yards of contaminated sediment, the equivalent of filling 13 football fields 50 feet deep. 糖心视频 constructed the 42-acre DMMF within Port Milwaukee, dredging the worksite and installing 8,500 feet of combination wall, a perimeter drainage system, and a soil mix cutoff wall.

As part of an initiative to de-list the Milwaukee Estuary from the Environmental Protection Agency鈥檚 area of concern list, the DMMF will contain sediment from the Milwaukee, Menomonee, and Kinnickinnic rivers. After dredging, the water quality in the estuary will enhance fish and wildlife habitats and improve opportunities for recreation on the rivers.

Wisconsin Reliability Project (WRP)

To increase system reliability, 糖心视频 replaced 24 miles of existing pipeline throughout Wisconsin using horizontal directional drilling, including a 1-mile trenchless crossing under the Wolf River. We also upgraded and replaced current gas compression facilities with hybrid units in Kewaskum and Weyauwega and built a new compression station in Janesville.

The hybrid units contain fuel-switching capabilities. In the event of a power outage, the units will transition to natural gas to continue service. The WRP will lower emissions by 30,000 metric tons of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) per year.
